Indication:

Vigabatrin is used to treat specific types of seizures, especially when other medications haven’t worked. In adults, it's prescribed for refractory complex partial seizures (focal seizures that are hard to control), and in infants (1 month to 2 years old), it is used to treat infantile spasms, a rare but serious seizure disorder. Dosage:                               

Vigabatrin is an anti-seizure medication used to treat refractory complex partial seizures in adults and infantile spasms in babies. For adults, the usual starting dose is 500 mg twice daily, gradually increased to a typical maintenance dose of 1,500 mg twice daily (total of 3,000 mg/day), depending on response and tolerance. For infants with spasms, the starting dose is based on body weight, usually 50 mg/kg/day, divided into two doses. The dose may be adjusted based on how well the child responds.

Note:

Vision testing is required regularly due to the risk of permanent vision loss.

The most common side effects of Vigabatrin are:
