AFLIBERCEPT, (ZALTRAP) works for treating for retinal disorders involving abnormal blood vessel growth and fluid leakage—such as wet age-related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, diabetic retinopathy, and retinal vein occlusion—and for retinopathy of prematurity in preterm infants. Its systemic form (ziv-aflibercept, Zaltrap) is used with chemotherapy to treat metastatic colorectal cancer progressing after prior oxaliplatin-based therapy. Side effects:

The most common side effects of AFLIBERCEPT are:

Bloody eye, eye or eyelid redness, eye pain, Blindness, seeing flashes, or a veil or curtain, seeing floating spots before the eyes, vision changes. Tell your doctor or pharmacist right away if any of these side effects persist or worsen.
